Pumped about his band's ninth headlining tour, Pillar lead vocalist, Rob Beckley, exclaims, "I have never been so excited to get out on a tour! Over the last 10 years we've been on the road a lot, doing numerous headlining tours and we've had the privilege of playing in many types of venues, and for different types of crowds. This is going to be the most fun we've had on stage in our decade of touring - guaranteed!"

Word Records artist Building 429 debuted in 2004 with "Glory Defined," a song that hit No. 1 on eight different charts and became BMI's 2005 Song of the Year for Christian music. The band received four Dove Award nominations and was named the GMA's "New Artist of the Year" in 2005. Wavorly burst onto the national scene in 2007 with their Flicker Records debut, Conquering the Fear of Flight. The highly-acclaimed album is a sprawling modern rock masterpiece. Christian rocker Brooke Barrettsmith captivates audiences with her passionate vocals and straightforward lyrics about faith and relationships. Growing up a pastor's daughter in Chicago, Brooke first started singing in church with her siblings. Since then, she has shared the stage with artists such as Toby Mac, Audio Adrenaline, Jeremy Camp and Steven Curtis Chapman. As a top 40 finalist on "American Idol Season 5" in 2006, Brooke has been championed by local Chicago TV and print outlets and has received hometown support performing at various local events including White Sox games. Wavorly & Brooke Barrettsmith in Concert w/ Pillar

I learned tonight that these two performing artists are part of the "For the Love of the Game Tour" that is bringing Pillar and Building 429 to Southern Hills on Monday, February 25. You can check them all out by clicking on the corresponding banner links above. Or by following the following links.

Pillar
Building 429
Wavorly
Brooke Barrettsmith

I am going to get some additional information up for you to share in the very near future...which means within the next few days. This will include either some video or audio samples of these bands. There will also be information on when tickets will be available and where you can purchase yours. I will give you this little inside secret. I discovered tonight that the ticket prices are as follows: $13 in advance / $15 at the door. This sounds like a great deal for a 4-band concert. Especially with the talent that will be there.

Save up those pennies friends. This is something you're not going to want to miss. I'll also mention that an event like this doesn't prepare itself. There is a lot of work that goes into this. I encourage you to help us out with this concert in any way you can. First and foremost, keep us in your prayers. Pray that God will bless the preparations that are taking place even now to make this a great success. We want the success of this concert to reflect God's power and glory in the community and region around us. Pray for the health and ministries of the performers. These people are doing what they do to share the glory of God with as many people as they can reach. My friends, it's at concerts like this when God has the opportunity to reach out to individuals that may not hear the Gospel any other way. Pray that God blesses this music and all of the people that will be attending.

If you are able to give more than prayer to the preparations for this concert please contact the church office at 605-371-2065. There is a list of tasks that need to be completed and we need a number of volunteers to step forward and help us out with them.

God bless, and I'll be typing at you soon.

Pillar and Building 429 coming to Southern Hills

As Pastor Steve announced during the worship services this morning two of Christian music's biggest bands today are coming to perform in the Southern Hills Outreach Center. The concert is schedule for 7 PM on Monday, February 25, 2008.

We hope that all of you help us by spreading the word to all of your friends. This will be a great concert for the youth of Sioux Falls to attend. No, I'm not excluding people of other ages, but we'd really like to bring in as many youth groups as possible.

Additional details will follow very soon. In the meantime, check out the banner links above. They will take you to the bands' websites where you can learn more about the Grammy nominated Pillar, and Christian music favorite Building 429.

To find out how you can help out or support this concert event please contact the church office at 605-371-2065, or email the church at sohills@midconetwork.com. Of course we can always use your prayer support, just as in every ministry and outreach our church sets forth on.

The two photographers from whom I've collected pictures so far are Vicki Schumacher and Ron Colwill. Another photographer or two has given or offered pictures to me, but I don't have any of those photos available right now. I hope you enjoy this collection of pictures.
