Dear Friends,

I'd like to share a couple of important events with each of you. I hope you will plan to participate.

Saturday, September 15, 2007

Car Wash

The Southern Hills "Youth On Fire" are holding a "Car Wash." It will be held at Cone's Plaza Gas Station just off I-229 and East 10th Street. There will be a 4 cent per gallon discount on all cash gas purchases also! The youth will be washing from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. There is a little Mexican restaurant in that strip mall, so you could dine while your car is being washed. Nicole Muilenburg says it's a good (simple), inexpensive place to eat.

All youth need to plan to attend! If parents and youth could spread the word, we'll be able to wash a lot of vehicles.

Church Building Renovation

The next couple of Sundays are "dress down" days at church. We will be pulling old carpet and cleaning the floors in preparation for new carpet. Wear your grubbies to church on September 16th and September 23rd. Please bring floor scrapers, shop vacs, and brooms. We will begin the work at 12:30 P.M.

Here is a schedule of activities:

Saturday, September 15, 2007

• Repair sheet rock and prepare for painting.
• Existing bathroom floors to be stripped and sanded in preparation for the installation of ceramic tile.
• Paint the Kitchen, hallway outside bathrooms and Lobby.

Sunday, September 16, 2007

• Remove bathroom partitions and stools.
• Remove old carpet from Lobby and hallway outside existing Bathrooms.
• Remove doors to be cut down.

Tuesday, September 18, 2007 - Friday, September 21, 2007

• Install new ceramic tile.
• Stain and finish wood trim for Celebration Space.

Please remember that this work is being done in the Lobby and use the northwest door to access the church. We will not be able to use the existing bathrooms and the Lobby until Saturday, September 22nd.

Saturday, September 22, 2007

• Replace stools.
• Replace partitions.
• Other work as necessary.

Sunday, September 23, 2007

• Remove old carpet from Celebration Space.
• Scrape floor and clean up old adhesive.

Tuesday, September 25, 2007 - Friday, September 28, 2007

• New carpet being installed in the Celebration Space.
• New carpet being installed in Kitchen.
• New carpet being installed in entry way.
• Trim work being completed following the carpet layers.

After September 30, 2007

• Finish ceiling tile in Kitchen and Nursery.
• Other finish work as necessary.

We can use all the help we can get. Please plan on giving a little of your time. If we all do a little, we'll all have to do only a little. We need you!
